Cooperation 2008/2009


1. 06.09. - 04.10. 2008
Dennis Soller, a student from Germany received a training in Torun (called: Orientierungspraktikum)– Mrs M. Jastak was in charge of his training period.

2. 20.09. - 04.10.2008
Mrs Ulrike Stankiewicz, a teacher from the BBS Syke received her training in workplaces, which could potentially take trainees from the BBS . Mrs E. Blaszczyk was In charge of her training period.

3. 04.10. - 15.11.2008
Three trainees from BBS Syke received their training in Torun workplaces, learnt the Polish language and Polish realia, socialized with Polish young people and visited our country (a trip to Warsaw and Gdansk).

  • One of the highlights of the stay in Torun was the participation of the guests in a two-day trip to Warsaw together with the students of the Economics School working on the project "How to invest in yourself." Within the project the students visited: Stock Exchange, the Parliament, the Polish Central Bank, and the most beautiful places of the capital.

    We are sure that the trainees are satisfied with their training period.


    As shown in the pictures the guests from Germany soon became friends with students of the School of Economics.


    4. 23 - 30 November 2008

    Preparatory visit in Syke. Joanna Grzeskiewicz and Magdalena Jastak made their first visit to Syke. The visit was aimed at preparing a new project under the Leonardo da Vinci - Mobility project involving teachers in many countries of the EU. The project is planned for the years 2009 - 2011. Teachers in this project would: learn about a system of vocational education in other EU countries , investigate and prepare a place for their students’ training in other European countries, and establish permanent cooperation with EU countries. Our school wants to work within a planned network with schools in Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

    Submission of applications in the National Agency Leonardo da Vinci project:-The international network of vocational training - mobility-trainers. The application prepared by: Mrs Teresa Buczynska, Mrs Joanna Grzeskiewicz, Mrs Magdalena Jastak.

    6. February 2009 - April 2010

    Implementation of the project "The Friend and the enemy" – a picture of political events of the 80’s and 90’s in Polish, Bosnian and German films - analysis of intercultural differences and similarities.

  • The project is implemented by the students of the European School Club-EuroEkonomik - the Secondary School of Economics in Torun, together with students from friendly schools in Berufsbildende Schulen Syke - Germany and the High Economic School, Sarajevo - Bosnia and Herzegovina. Each team consists of 10 students and a tutor. Mrs Lucy Modzelewska and Ewa Blaszczyk are responsible for students of the School of Economics. This is already their second common project. The previous one "Hopes and fears of young people in Europe" took third place in Europa in the contest EUDA 2008 to choose the best website in English.
    The project aims:
    * Meeting young people from three countries, mutual knowledge, exchange of information related to the theme of the project, and presenting history and culture of their countries ,
    * Getting rid of intercultural stereotypes and prejudices,
    * Acquiring knowledge about the historical relationships in modern history,
    * Strengthening the capacity of critical awareness and perceiving the image - friend and enemy-
    in the media,
    * Extending artistic and technical abilities
    * Using English and German in practice
    * Establishing contacts with other schools.
    The project consists of 3 phases:
    1) Students exchange information about socio-cultural aspects concerning partner countries, the cities and partner schools, and opinions related to political and social changes in the 80’s and 90’s in the three partner countries on a specially created platform, meeting twice a week to chat. Use of materials www.euda.99k.org website developed under a previous project.
    2) A range of films depicting a certain historical period , and analysing and discussing their meaning.
    3) Common meetings to clarify and revise images of friend and foe, recorded discussions of international, out movie reviews of individual national teams, project evaluation till now and finally a draft of scenario as an outcome product - a collage film.
    The collage film will be submitted to the competition for the most interesting historical projects for young people under the slogan "Take heart." As a part of this project 2 meetings of young people from these countries were scheduled. The first meeting will be held 28 September – 09 October 2009. In Sarajevo, and the second is planned for mid-March 2010 in Torun.

  • The project consists of several stages:

    I. Phase I - February 2009 - April 2009
    1. Teachers from the three countries create ten teams of students with solid language skills - English language - and computer technology.
    2. Providing a platform for the Lo-Net2, where the students can meet to chat twice a week - Monday and Thursday between 20.00 and 21.00.
    3. Getting to know each other through the platform of youth Lo-Net2 (characteristics of individual profiles of students).
    4. Acquiring socio-cultural information regarding conditions in partner countries, in cities and partner schools through Homepage www.euda.99.org.placed on the EU-Dialogue_Award.
    5. Using "Shadows of the Past" from www.euda.99.org as a source of affordable basic historical knowledge of the 80’s - and 90’s (text material, pictures and videos).
    II. Phase II - May 2009 - August 20091. Collective selection appropriate ambitious films that discuss topics of political and social changes in the 80’s and 90’s in the three partner countries:
    a) the German team chose the movie "Goodbye Lenin"
    b) the Polish team chose the movie "Man of Iron" / "Men of Iron" /,
    c) the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina chose the film "Remake".
    These films reflect outstanding development of events that led to collapsing of communism in Poland after the collapse of communism in Germany and the war and ethnic persecution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
    2. Selected films in the form of DVDs in English or with English subtitles, were mailed to the individual partners.
    3. Watching by the students and teachers a film agreed on in all countries (roughly one film per month), and discussing it, analyzing and criticizing on a chat line, discussion platform Lo-Net2. Sharing impressions after watching a new medium "film".
    The students worked on particular issues - (Questionnaire ") - for example, according to a friend, the perfect image, credibility, morality, media, etc.
    The texts from the chat rooms where students exchanged their thoughts about the films going into details, were recorded at Lo-Net2 platform and will serve as the final stage of "raw material" for its own critic / film reviews, and to complete their film collage. In the course of the project, students gradually began to understand that global issues and in particular European ones can find the reflection in national events.
    4. Making presentations by the various partners on the cities in which they live, attended schools, and the history of their country in the 80’s and 90’s. Presentations have been prepared on the basis of a message placed on www.euda.99k.org, relevant historical literature, or interviews with people who participated in these events.
